Yesterday was another night to remember at Warrington Sports Club.

You turned up in your droves to watch some great squash and to partake in some lovely Christmas food and drink, kindly supplied by Alan Edge. Your support is what keeps us all going.

Lewis got us off to a flying start as he demolished Northen Ireland's No.1 player, but on the adjacent court Josh was struggling against a fit and energetic Henry Beach (Below). Unfortunately, Josh fell to a second straight defeat, meaning the match was soon tied at 1-match-all.

Before the No.2's took to the court, we were treated to a few entertaining words from special guest, former World No.4, Adrian Davies, about his experiences playing Jahangir and Jansher Khan, as well as his time sleeping on Alan Edge's couch for 6 months!

Jonah then made very quick work of Cheetham's new head coach, Jordan Hardwick (Below). Jonah was obviously out to impress his girlfriend who was sitting on the front row to cheer him on! On the adjacent Court 6, Ollie recovered from a slow start to comfortably beat junior Joe Royle.

The final match of the evening was between World No.6, Joel Makin and Cheetham's own local legend, Finn Withington (Top and below). Finn now lives in America as he tries to further his squash career. He competed reasonably well but came up short as he just couldn't find the winning shots he's so famous for, because Joel kept on getting the back! This concluded a third 3-0 win on the show court.

Overall, it was a thoroughly impressive display from our Warrington Warriors who never gave their opponents a chance. The players were then treated to a three-course Christmas dinner of the highest quality, before league chairman Geoff Walton ended the night with a couple of his favourite magic tricks!

We travel to Wrexham next Tuesday for our last league match before Christmas, where we have Joel and Jonah playing once again - which will hopefully result in a comprehensive win, giving us a healthy halfway stage lead at the top of the table.
