The Beach Tennis Nationals is an open tournament for all players aged 15 and older to participate in. The event comprises of men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles, with total prize money of R13,500.
Players qualifying for the semi finals in both men's and women's doubles will automatically qualify for an additional play-off competition, where players will compete against one another for possible Team SA selection. Team SA will compete in the Southern Africa Regional Cup where the winning nation will receive one of the two Africa spots to compete at the Beach Tennis World Championships in Brazil in October. These play-offs will take place Sunday and Monday.
Where a large local (Gauteng) entry is received the local players may be required to play a qualifying event on Saturday and Sunday 3 and 4 April. Final format will be determined based on entries received.
Paddles will be available for use for players who do not have their own paddle and will be sanitized when a match is finished. Paddles will also be available for purchase onsite.
