My first tournament, played in the 70+ age group. very disappointed with the level/standard of tennis. Only 3 of us in the section. We played doubles against the 60+, possibly could have put us 3 in the 65+ group.

I would also like to thank Annette de Wet and the Winelands Senior Committee for their amazing effort in managing to successfully complete this seniors event under very difficult circumstances. They remained calm and friendly throughout the four days and always communicated with a a smile. Thank you all so much for your hard work - it was much appreciated by me and the others players.

The communication during the rain delays was superb . Annette did a fantastic job. Atmosphere at the club was great and all players seem to love the time back at the tournament. Bertie was always friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great tournament!

The draws came out very late... On Saturday evening the schedule only came out after 10:30 for me to play at 8am the next day. This makes things difficult to plan with family etc.

Great tournament. The only negative was that members of Vredenburg tennis club where either playing the nr 1 or 2 seed or each other in each and every draw that we entered. The only exception was our seeded player Marquin and Warrick as we had no other member playing in that age group. Surely 12/12 member can not be so unlucky. Even other people pick up on it and made a joke , saying we should have hold the tournament at home.

Under demanding circumstances with the weather not always playing their part and inspite of all the covid restrictions in place we thoroughly enjoyed a well organized event. A first of its kind in Seniors tennis and a definite benchmark for tournies to come. Well done to Annette and Sue and the Winelands committee
