At Western Springs College/Ngā Puna o Waiōrea we offer the opportunity for students to be part of a team / sport environment.
Springs is proud to be able to provide our students with an extensive programme of co-curricular activities which we see as integral to their development. We recognise the many ways in which sport benefits students, including enhanced academic performance, improved behaviour and a healthier lifestyle.
Western Springs College wishes to give our students the opportunity to represent us and to participate in Auckland College Sport. We believe in the importance of giving all of our students a wide range of activities that will allow them to reach their potential and to challenge themselves in terms of leadership, teamwork and physical fitness. We currently offer over 30 different sports options to students.
Sport is a significant way in which the students and teachers can interact and achieve goals together which builds school morale and gives all concerned a feeling of school pride. Looking into the future, Western Springs College Sports, with the help of staff and parents, coaches and managers, is committed to providing a fair playing field for everyone
Over the past 3-4 years, Squash has been a popular and very successful sport, having won 6 titles in the last three years. Our programme has a senior boys, senior girls and several junior teams playing weekly and each team trains once a week under the tuition of a Squash Auckland coach.
